Once a year, some 1,500 communications and marketing professionals from across Germany meet in Berlin where they spend two days discussing current issues, trends and recent developments in technology. This year’s theme of “Courage” was addressed by the 150 lectures, workshops, discussions and keynote speakers. The courage to make a decision, the courage to advance progress, but also the courage to take a stance – these expressions of courage are more important than ever, also for companies.
We were therefore pleased to have the opportunity to open the event with a keynote speech on taking a stance. PHINEO CEO Andreas Rickert and International President of United Way Worldwide José Ferrao presented five conditions for success in corporate engagement, underpinning each with examples from PHINEO’s work and United Way’s international network. Astrid Aupperle, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Microsoft Germany, then outlined how Microsoft carries out its commitment to social issues such as digital education, digital inclusion and sustainability through the use of modern technologies.
